The aim of the course is to assist those whose task it is to write and issue press releases.

Course Outline:

Effective press release composition is considered.

Press releases that work and that do not work are discussed.

The course is informal and informative and geared towards practical results.

Objectives:

  • By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

    Understand the framework of a basic press release
    Understand the difference between an ad, a release, and a statement
    Understand that a different approach works better for some audiences
    Develop writing skills to have a press release noticed
    Have clear guidelines to measure each release against
    Understand how to contact and be confident with the press
    Draft a press release that will be read
    Write headlines that catch the eye
    Develop a best-time schedule for contacting journalists
    Entice journalists to make continuing contact
    Target the appropriate and best-chance publications for the business

Brendan Nolan, the trainer on this programme not only has the necessary presentation, tutoring and delivery skills, but also has a proven track record of communicating effectively in the business world.
