Course Outline:

The course shows how to prepare regular on-time and competent reports on work in progress.

It examines one-off reports and special assignment reporting for an in-house audience or the wider community of clients and the public.

The course is informal and informative so as to stimulate ideas that can be put into effect without delay.

Objectives:
On conclusion of the course delegates
will be enabled to:

• Decide which material is relevant for the report
• Assemble facts and corroborative material
• Choose what to include or exclude
• Assess the level of knowledge of the report's readers
• Select a writing tone for the report, formal or informal
• Choose a layout style using headings, chapters or appendices
• Use strong clear English in writing
• Deliver the report with authority
• Use visual aids to deliver a powerful report
• Compose a short oral presentation to accompany the presentation
• Write an executive summary
• Proof read for error before delivery
