woman with files This course will show how to develop into becoming a published writer of non-fiction. Experience gained at your own pace in fact-finding, and writing it all down will also help any fiction writing you might consider undertaking in the future.

We will consider likely markets for non-fiction material and how best to place work there. Non-fiction markets can include newspapers, periodicals, books, talks, radio, and websites amongst others.

The course will identify how by specializing in something you already know a little about you could increase your value and income as a writer.

Some writers may not wish to be a full-time writer at the moment, so the course will assess the benefits of staying part-time or going full time.

Time will be given to discuss beginner level non-fiction opportunities and how a continuing career in writing might be developed from there.

For established writers such discussion can yield a new perspective or challenge long-practiced habits that may need re-visiting to spin off into new opportunities.

Following our two days together, you will be better able to define what you can offer and identify your target market.

You will read more fruitfully with an eye to being published.

You will have practical tips on organising your approach.

You will even know how to put a synopsis proposal together, if you decide to go into the book writing business.

Brendan Nolan has been living by his pen for more than 25 years.

In one five-year period he wrote and had published and was paid for more than a million words of non-fiction which were read by hundreds of thousands of people.

For each of two years Brendan had a non-fiction book in the shops for Christmas sale, both of which arose from his other non-fiction writing.
